Our client is a leading software product firm specializing in Geospatial and Imaging systems, and they are searching for several Java/J2EE Engineers to join their Intelligence / DoD professional services team in the DC metro area. In this role, you will learn about Geospatial software, imaging systems, and other in-demand technologies while helping agencies implement and integrate our client's products.
*** Current openings exist in both Reston/Herndon, VA and in Columbia, MD, with client sites throughout the DC metro area.
In particular, your responsibilities may include the following:
- Providing Systems Engineering and Software Development services for agencies that are implementing our client's software products
- Working with agencies and federal integrator stakeholders to gather Requirements
- Designing solutions based on our client's Geospatial and Imaging products
- Determining the best approaches to Legacy System Integration
- Implementing full solutions for clients that involve customizations and enhancement to the core product suite and integration with existing agency systems
- Providing mentoring, training, and quickstart services to clients
- Participating in SBIR and other research submission activities
- Working on pilot and proof-of-concept initiatives
- Being a representative to industry standards organizations such as the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGS)
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
- US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance or above (for govt. security reasons)
- Strong Java and J2EE development skills
- Solid understanding of OO principles
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- An interest in working with cool technology on important work
The following additional skills and experience are nice to have, but not required
- Prior experience working in the Intelligence community and familiarity with Intelligence community software systems
- Prior experience in the Military and familiarity with Military software systems
- Experience in GIS, Cartography, or Geography
- Experience working with Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) specifications such as GML, WFS, WMS, WCS, CSW, SFS, and WSC
- An existing CI or Lifestyle polygraph (our client is willing to sponsor applicants for a polygraph if they already have an active TS/SCI clearance)
Salaries for these positions are in the range of 120K - 150K, plus a strong benefits plan and stock options.
