SUMMARY:
The SAP Configuration Analyst - SD oversees the design, configuration, testing, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of the SAP environment including specific accountability for one or more modules, as well as oversight of complex projects requiring significant integration with other areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs preliminary project assessments
- Works with BAs in requirements gathering
- Creates technical specifications based on functional requirements
- Creates and modifies SAP configurations using defined development standards, procedures, and design specifications
- Participates in projects (global SAP rollouts, upgrades, new module implementations)
- Performs unit testing, develops test scripts, and contributes to integration testing of development objects
- Diagnoses and resolves application-related issues, identifies root causes and institutes corrective actions and preventive measures
- Leads associates and assigns tasks as needed
- Maintains and enhances SAP development skills and knowledge
- Identifies/recommends new technologies to management and details implications for business use
EDUCATION & SKILLS:
* Bachelor's degree in CS or related discipline (or equivalent combination of education, professional training, and certification)
* 4+ yrs IT systems and R/3 exp with an emphasis on SD
* At least 2 full lifecycle implementations of SAP modules
* Effective organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functional areas, departments, and business units
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform related tasks in a time-sensitive environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- R/3 exp with MM, PP, WM, BW, FI/CO
- SAP Netweaver components including CRM, SRM, EP
- Use of OSS and SAP Workflow
- Bar coding, PDA, or wireless technologies
- General reporting concepts (e.g. List, Interactive, ABAP Query & ALV)
- Programming concepts (e.g. Data Dictionary, LSMW, CATT, SAPScript, Portals, EDI, XML, BAPI, Authorizations)
- Development methodologies such as ASAP or ITIL
- IT or business experience in a distribution environment
