We are looking for a seasoned software engineering manager experienced in the full lifecycle development of military communication systems for a client in the Philadelphia area.
Responsible for the management of leading a staff of 150+ software engineering professionals in the design of secure, high rate embedded communication systems. This is a matrix organizational structure supporting multiple separate business entities. Responsible for technical (software) liaison at the highest levels of the organization. Responsible for employee
training and development, performance assessment, work assignments and assisting with employee recruitment. Advise subordinate managers or staff members to help meet established schedules or resolve technical or operational problems. Submit and administer budget schedules and performance standards. Coordinates activities so they mesh well with the overall objectives of the business. Assures a directorate maturity of CMMI 3+.
Required Skills: Technical bachelors degree with 10+ years software engineering experience with a minimum of 5 years first line engineering management (100+ headcount). A strong focus on product realization. Significant experience and demonstrated success in the development of high and low level software for military communication system applications. Proven success in leading engineering efforts on pursuits and proposals. A track record with respect to cost, schedule, and technical achievement. Able to collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers. Knowledge of the Level 3 CMM process and requirements. Experience with emerging communications techniques and technologies, i.e. OFDM, WiFi, WiMAX.
Pluses: Graduate degree(s). Have held at least a DOD Secret level clearance within the past 2 years. Knowledge of ground, airborne and spacecraft communication systems.
