In this role, you will coordinate the release planning across our application portfolio utilizing Front Range ITSM today, and Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Microsoft System Center in the future. You will also be responsible for identifying and tracking all versions of hardware and software documentation, processes, procedures, and all other components of the IT environment under the control of change management. The primary job functions are:
? Acts as primary advocate between project development and operations groups to ensure proper operational transition of new applications or change requests.
? Drives release of new software and hardware into the operational environment using the controlling processes of release, configuration and change management.
? Builds and manages the release plan.
? Manages critical defects related to release and configuration management activities.
? Ensures that operations staff is ready to support the release in production.
? Facilitates training for operations staff.
? Performs and sets up support for pilot deployments.
? Maintains the Definitive Software Library (DSL).
? Understands, monitors, and leads changes in the SDLC to carry forward Configuration Management best practices.
? Collects and reports release and configuration management metrics, and assists in the remediation of migration issues.
? Evaluates the release following implementation and drives continuous improvement into ITS processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
? 3+ years solid Configuration Management and CM tools development experience
? 2+ years Release Management experience
? Solid SDLC experience
? Experience with various version control tools such as VSS, TFS, CVS, PVCS, ClearCase, etc.
? Experience with Change and Service Management Tools: Front Range, System Center, etc.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
? Ability to quickly learn new technologies
? MCSE/MCSD preferred
