Description:
Serves as technical Analyst on the team, with primary focus on Configuration and Release Management of IT Systems.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Establish Configuration Management methodology best practices across all the applications managed by the PLM COE organization. The individual will be responsible for management and preservation of all versions of software and configuration artifacts required to maintain IT-application for the PLM COE. The analyst will work closely with program teams, Development teams, COE Operations and OpEx teams located globally, in developing effective CM strategies and CM plans for existing and new IT systems supported by the PLM COE. The person will closely monitor the review of released change dat a and change accounting activities to ensure adherence to configuration management procedures and policies. Drive application server standardization using Weblogic, ANT, shell scripts
• The Analyst will be responsible for automating the build process and delivering periodic builds for development and testing while supporting development and test engineers on the use of configuration management tools and processes. The person will also lead efforts to establish and track metrics during the Configuration Management Life Cycle that will help us meet and measure aggressive quality and productivity objectives
• The selected individual will be enforcing the software development process in areas involving storage and versioning of software or configurations, merging code/config changes submitted by developers and approved by IT Managers and maintaining multiple version trees for all supported environments. Periodic training of development and testing staff on using the chosen software configuration management system and developing common process for checking in source code/configuration and doings builds
Qualifications:
• Full system development life cycle hands-on experience: analysis, designing, coding, testing, change control, and documentation. Experience with process quality methodology
• Minimum of 5 years experience with build technologies: ANT, Java/J2EE, XML, Unix/Windows Scripting, J2EE Administration & maintenance - Weblogic MUST, WebSphere DESIRED
• Experience managing large infrastructure farms with source with Version Control tools such as CVS, Subversion, VSS or ClearCase
•• Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must
•• Analytic, creative and business focused problem solver
•• Demonstrated leadership in all areas of system analysis, including client interaction, process design, requirements management and functional design
•• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
•• Ability to explain issues and resolutions to technical and non-technical staff
