Job Description:
The client is seeking a mid-level .Net developer to work with the Core Development team for a direct hire position in Houston, TX. This individual will be responsible for new windows application development using Visual Studio 2005 and C#. Also; part of this role is migrating legacy VB software to .Net and C#. Ours is a constantly changing environment with many customer requests and production environment demands. The ideal candidate will be a team player that can easily shift gears from new development to working on existing code to solve customer problems.
Responsibilities:
• Work with Business Analysts to convert business requirements into scalable, robust and flexible designs
• Design and develop software and reusable software components
• Participate in design sessions with architects and developers
• Ensure code and design meets specifications, quality and security standards, and is maintainable
• Utilize industry standard techniques such as UML to document and interpret designs
• Unit test software components
• Follow configuration management/version control policies
• Investigate and research issues, present solution with estimated work effort and implement
Must have experience:
• Object Oriented development 3 years
• Development on n-tier architecture 2 years
• C# 3 years
• Visual Studio 2005 1 year
• SQL Server development 2 years
• XML 2 years
Nice to have experience:
• Team Foundation Server
• SQL Server 2005
• Windows forms development
• SOA design and development
• .Net 3.5 experience
• GUI design
