Essential Job Functions:
Electrical engineer needed to participate in computer and display system design from concept, through hardware development, integration and testing. Must be able to design and debug video, CRT, LCD and display systems.
The successful candidate will handle all aspects of display design, integration and test, with the ability to oversee and provide technical direction across multiple projects.
Tasks include but not limited to:
• Design and development of rugged computers, display and peripherals, including displays, LCD, video and mixed signal circuitry, inverters and touch screen circuitry
• Integrate new video, backlight, touch screen and optical film technologies into existing and future products
• Conduct architecture, technology and implementation trade-offs and develop technology roadmaps
• Analyze existing products and recommend product improvements
• Select and specify state-of-the-art integrated technologies & components for new designs
Skills:
• Experience in various LCD technologies with knowledge in the trade-offs between various technology versus temp, resolutions, daylight readability, Night vision, viewing angle etc.
• Experience working with multiple LCD panel manufacturers
• In-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures in video processing and video conversion circuitry
• Proficient in simulation and modeling of mixed signal hardware designs
• In-depth knowledge in LED backlight design
• In-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures in high frequency switching CCFL inverter power supply design
• Knowledge of DOD and military requirements a plus
• Proficient in the use of Digital instruments such as logic analyzers, video generators, optical measurement, light meters, and oscilloscopes
• Strong background in signal integrity and high frequency data transmission
• Ability to understand system-level issues in a complex digital system
Experience:
• BS Degree or Masters in Electrical or Computer Engineering and seven or more years experience in displays, video, touch screens, backlight design and/or LCD displays.
• Extensive working knowledge of Analog and Digital video formats such as; NTSC/PAL, YPbPr, RGB, LVDS video, MPEG, H.264, DVB
• Extensive working experience in video conversion, video signal integrity, and/or video signal processing designs
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
