The client is in need of Sr. Systems Architect for a direct hire position in Houston, TX.
Roles and Responsibilities:
To succeed in the company, the Senior Systems Architect will be accountable for the following tasks and objectives.
• Assist with the design and development of innovative software solutions across a diverse family of product and service offerings
• Promote tighter business/IT alignment and better-quality decisions regarding the application of technology towards business goals
• Work with IT Leadership to plan and integrate short and long term technology options into overall IT Strategic Plan
• Serve as a key hands-on contributor in the software product development life-cycle, performing analysis, driving software architecture and design, development, and integration
• Ensure that the recommended architecture supports rapid application development and deployment, taking into account the differing evolution cycles of the applications being deployed
• Oversee plan-versus-actual technical implementation of architected systems and solutions
• Provide ongoing evaluation of technology solutions and capabilities to ensure alignment with business objectives and identify areas of risks and opportunities
• Demonstrate knowledge in both technical and applied business areas: business technology strategy and consulting; technology planning and management; and business and data modeling
• Assist with impact analysis of proposed changes on existing architecture, capabilities, system priorities, and technology solutions; Responsible for solution options, trade-offs, design and implementation
• Assist and guide technical team members in an effort to move from a reactionary to a proactive environment
• Assist in business strategy and process engineering; Assist with standards definition and review
• Assist with the review and implementation of third party solutions or tools; Responsible for application integration
Required Education and Experience:
To be considered for the job position, the candidate must have the following education and experience.
• BS in computer science, computer engineering, systems analysis, or a related study
• 7+ years of overall IT experience
• 5+ years of experience in at least two IT disciplines
• Minimum of 5 years designing complex, integrated application solutions
• 3-5 years minimum experience developing products in C# with MS Visual Studio .Net
• 5-7 years minimum experience in object-oriented and component-based analysis, design and development
• 2 years minimum experience in relational database design and development using Microsoft SQL Server
• Understanding of Windows networking, communications and security protocols
• Knowledge of infrastructure components, middleware and SOA
• Knowledge of software product development standards and methodologies
• Knowledge of enterprise class software requirements including security, scalability, and usability
