The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis has an opening in their Fed ACH department for a Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence(BI) Architect. Responsibilities include providing technical and functional application design, direction, support, solutions and administration for the data warehouse and business intelligence applications. Responsible for the architecture of the data warehouse and business intelligence solutions. Provide the broad vision, technical details and direction for the data warehouse and BI initiatives. Analyzes business requirements, develops solutions, and writes detailed program requirements and specifications. Designs, codes, documents, and deploys warehouse solutions. Integrates custom front-end applications with existing (SQL Server) and new (Oracle) back-end warehouse systems. Coordinates and works closely with Business Customers, Application Development Teams, DBAs, Business Analysts, FRIT and local IT support groups. Responsible for directing and executing the technical aspects of the overall strategy of the data warehouse, ETL, and BI processes. Educate users on data warehouse and BI applications and capabilities. Train/mentor other data warehouse team members on data analysis, data modeling, ETL, and BI applications.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
6 or more years of data warehouse/BI work experience. Familiar with SDLC concepts and Methodologies.
Ability to solve problems quickly and completely; to multitask, to manage and perform various tasks and responsibilities concurrently.
Excellent critical thinking skills. Strong documentation and record keeping skills, with extreme attention to details.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to deal effectively with internal customers, peers, and management.
Experience with conceptual, logical and physical modeling.
Experience with UNIX and Windows servers.
Experience with Oracle 10g/11g. Experience with SQL Server 2000 and DTS.
