Our client, a well know retail company in NYC called New York & Company is seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst with 5-10 years experience. This position will be a lead support role leading to a new project development role in the Client/Server environment. You will be a key player in support of current business applications.
Your primary responsibility will be to learn the current business environment and suggest projects or tasks to ensure the stability of the environment. In addition, as you become more familiar with the business environment you will be assigned to new projects in developing applications to facilitate the growth of the business.
You will have work associated with developing or modifying moderately complex information systems and will be assigned detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
Design, code, test, debug, document and maintain those programs. You must be competent to work on most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. Creation of other project deliverables as assigned. Propose and explain alternative solutions when possible.
Qualifications:
3-5 years systems analysis and programming experience
Design, code, test, implement and support programs written in ASP.NET,
VB.NET, C, C++, Visual basic and unix scripting language.
Experience with SQL Server and Oracle is required and Teradata experience is a plus.
Experience in writing SQL queries and/or Stored Procedures is required. Experience with SQL Server DTS is a plus.
Strong communication skills with operations personnel and users.
Experience with retail environment is a plus.
Experience with supporting scheduled batch jobs is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent combination of course work/job experience.
Strong analytical, organizational, verbal and written skills.
Strong PC skills.
Superior customer service skills.
Team player.
Attention to detail.
Ability to interface with all levels of staff.
Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: 70K-80K - Dependent Upon Experience
