We have an immediate need for a Senior LINUX Engineer in our Wellesley, MA location.
Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for the daily administration of the Linux environment. Project work including installation, configuration and post support of Linux servers, primarily RedHat. Support evaluation and testing of Susu Linux and security products. Support Oracle on Linux including databases, applications and RAC.
Required Skills:
4-6 years working with Linux environments in an enterprise setting
Formal Linux Training and certification
Experience with RedHat Linux in administration, installation, configuration and day to day operations
Familiar with Unix and/or Windows 2000/2003 environments
Desired Skills:
Experience with VmWare ESX servers
SAN knowledge particular to EMC
Backup knowledge with Veritas NetBackup
Expertise in Linux Security. Ability to manage Red Hat rpms.
Expertise in Oracle RAC Clustering technology
Expertise in HP ServiceGuard Clustering technology
Familiarity with virtualization technology
Advanced shell script writing
Advance skills in UNIX troubleshooting. Excellent problem solving skills.
Expertise in Unix Networking and Linux file system management
Familiarity with EMC Storage technology. Applicant needs ability to understand and implement SAN technology. This includes luns, hba cards and drivers, EMC Powerpath and Logical Volume Manager.
Ability to analyze system performance metrics and make recommendations
Minimum Certifications or Other Professional Credentials:
RedHat Certified
MCSE certified desirable
