Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
§ Perform system administration responsibilities for approximately 50 Red Hat Linux Servers
§ Troubleshoot and resolve complex systems hardware and software problems
§ Analyze and diagnosis system failures, recover and restore operating systems and file systems
§ Apply and manage Red Hat Linux security controls and patches
§ Report planned and unplanned system events and activities
§ Monitor system availability, load, and system capacity
§ Identify requirements for upgrades in storage and/or processor capacity or system software releases
§ Schedule and execute regular system management activities,including system reboot, backup, recovery, archiving, and restoration
§ Install and configure operating system, commercial-off-the-shelf products, and application development upgrades and new releases
§ Hardware and software configuration management for COTS products
§ The initiation, coordination, and closure of preventive and corrective maintenance activities of the DADS commercial hardware and
software
Qualifications:
§ 5 years experience performing system and network administration
responsibilities for Red Hat Linux Servers
§ Experience configuring and administrating Red Hat Linux security
§ Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
§ Experience with blade server configuration and administration a plus.
Tools:
§ Rational Clear Quest, Microsoft Visio
