Job Summary: Create and maintain a working plan of all policy/procedures/testing. Ensure the quality of the testing and offer recommendations on migration of code into production. Define the critical test objectives for the project and determine how they will be accomplished and coordinated. This position will oversee IT testing resources (Staff and Tools) and their daily responsibilities. The overall goal is to ensure the effective planning and execution of IT Quality Assurance (QA) tests.



Job Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

· Facilitate the creation/maintenance/compliance of associated documents, including Quality Plan/Policy/Standards & Procedures

· Monitor current and future Quality Assurance activities and allocate resources as necessary

· Champion the use of metrics, root cause analysis and audits

· Evaluate, recommend and automate processes for streamlining/improving testing procedures

· Enforce Quality Assurance status reports, escalate systemic problems and acceptance criteria

· Develop test plans and scripts to ensure project requirements are met

· Perform Functional/System/Integration/Regression/Stress/Load and other testing as required

· Develop the Quality Assurance testing requirements, and strategies the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

· Document, troubleshoot and isolate problems per the policy, standards and procedures

· Ability to communicate technical details to non-technical business partners

· Perform reviews on documentation & progress throughout testing lifecycle

· Provides Management reports and data to assist in decision making

· Ensure the integrity of data and channels of communication

· Ensure autonomy of Quality Assurance

· Assist the project management team in estimating total Quality Assurance effort for a project

· Facilitate Quality Assurance training on tools and procedures

· Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with business users as necessary

· Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems professionally



Non-essential Functions:

· Perform White Box testing as needed

· Assist with the creation of test environments



Adaptability Requirements:

Position requires a high degree of adaptability. Incumbent will be faced with a variety of issues on a day-to-day basis and will be expected to respond to these issues appropriately.

Minimal Travel (5% or less)



Experience and Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Sciences or applicable job experience

7+ years of experience in all phases and stages of hardware/software testing (Unit, System, Integration, Performance, User Acceptance, Regression)

3+ years using Mercury Testing Suite

2+ years Project Management

2+ years using 4GL Development Programming Language

2+ years API level testing

Proven leadership skills/experience

Experience with administration of Mercury Testing Tools (QTP, LoadRunner, WinRunner, etc?)



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to work under minimal general supervision

Effective time management and organizational skills

Expert in Quality Assurance methodology

Knowledge of Windows/SQL operating systems

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of UNIX operating systems -- Preferred
