Job Description:
Unix Shell programming: familiar in borne or ksh
Database: SQL, PL/SQL and understanding of Data Dictionary
WebLogic: Installation skills and advanced configuration skills
iPlanet: Installation skills and advanced configuration skills
Exposure to one of the Tools: Apache, Tomcat, Tibco
Java: Core Java knowledge.
Other Tools: Defect tracking tool such as Jack Track OR ClearQuest
Version Control Tool: CVS or Perforce or any other version control tool
Support Skills: Good exposure to troubleshooting and documenting the issues
Number of years Industry Experience: 2 to 5 years experience
College Degree: 4 years college degree.
Troubleshooting -- Has demonstrated software troubleshooting experience and exhibits a willingness to determine root cause without being given explicit
instructions Desired skills: J2EE: JSP/Servlets, JDBC, XML, JMS, RMI, EJB, Security & Transactions, web services.
Responsibilties:
Build new Test Environments based on requirements.
Install kits into Test, Training and Performance environments.
Support of connections to external systems.
Support Sanity Check/Shakeout of Test Environments prior Test Efforts
Resolve problems per specific checklists or standard troubleshooting procedures
Manage the Test Environment troubleshooting process, including contacting external support and escalation of critical issues
Troubleshoot issues uncovered by Test and other organizations and escalate appropriately to improve software quality and environment configurations
Develop and Maintain tools, automation, and processes to improve the quality or capacity of the support provided to customers
Attend and participate in environment planning meetings to gather requirements
Attend development to QA turnover meetings.
Conduct Production Work Plan walkthrough meetings and help production group during implementation time.
