Join the agile team breaking new ground in web development and help lead us on a journey through uncharted territory. Lead teams of software developers and technical analysts using agile development methodologies to build high volume interactive web sites. Partake in all aspects of web publishing including social networking, search engine optimization, ad serving, content management, and more.
Responsibilities
• Lead development managers and provide guidance and leadership on technology, architecture and management.
• Lead the technical analyst team coordinating the requirements gathering and technical specifications.
• Manage schedules and staffing plans. Coordinate and manage multiple projects with aggressive schedules simultaneously.
• Be accountable for department staffing including hiring, performance evaluations and team motivation.
• Manage expectations by communicating project progress and status to IT and executive management.
• Define best practices and review development work to ensure they adhere to standards and methodologies.
• Ensure effective operation of Web sites.
Required Qualifications
• A minimum of (10+) years of Information Technology professional experience with at least (5) years in Internet development and managing 15+ IT professional resources.
• Knowledgeable in Java, JSP/Servlets, XML and Java EE based application design and implementations and have experience with Java Application Servers and relational Databases.
• Web development experience in dynamic database-driven applications
• Proficiency in at least two of the following technologies; Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, ASP, .NET
• Familiarity with the Unix Operating System
• Candidate must have experience managing the development and deployment of Internet applications.
• Candidate should also have participated in many full system development life-cycle (SDLC) projects.
• Experience with client side rich applications using AJAX or Flash
• Experience applying agile methodologies including scrum or extreme programming.
• Media/Publishing experience
