Position Overview
TP Systems Ltd. is a technology consulting firm, providing business solutions to both the private and public sector for over 30 years.
Our client is seeking a Business and Strategy Architect with strong understanding of business processes and strategy, and can correlate them to the IT Solutions and the long-term IT Strategy. This position will remain current in the business unit strategies, understand the business roadmap as well as IT systems. The Business Architect will leverage their broad set of disciplines, including expertise with strategic planning and their tactical execution, change and project management, process management, and business systems deployment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in the development of Business and IT Strategic Plans.
Work with IT Technical Architect(s) to develop and recommend long term technology strategies for business unit(s).
Identify where new or existing technology can be used to facilitate the business unit's strategic and tactical business plans including their processes.
Work with the business to understand and shape IT demand, evaluate against business and IT roadmaps and determine the approach and priority.
Analyze and assist the business with defining or designing of new business processes, functions, and organizational structures as a result of technology solution enhancements.
Gather and document requirements for new initiates and projects.
Conduct impact analysis, and functional requirements definition and business casing to ensure scope, change management components are understood and documented for new initiatives.
Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts. Additionally, research and provide information on technical trends and competitors'
Participate in enterprise architecture development including information architecture, application portfolio and technical architecture.
Facilitate development of enterprise solutions that combine knowledge of business issues and processes, general technological options, and process facilitation techniques.
Lead strategy/requirements projects.
Develop understanding of business needs through discussion and interviews.
Maintain ongoing liaison with all IT departments to ensure consistency of consulting advice.
Assist in the creation of the annual IT Capital budget.
Skills and Experience
Excellent understanding of large integrated corporate business systems from a functional standpoint.
Proven ability to managing large to medium size projects
Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Superior interpersonal skills with good knowledge of facilitation and organization change management.
Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with excellent problem solving ability.
Customer focused with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
Ability to adapt rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.
Ability to define and scope business area, analyze, document, and gather requirements, process flow analysis, identify and verify solutions.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Comfortable in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment, including ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in this environment.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
