We are currently in need of an (2) Trainer(s) to join our project team. This is a 24 month contract with possibility of one additional year long extension.
Responsibilities
Moving from an antiquated email system that can currently be used in both a character (non-mouse) and GUI mode. The idea is to move from this old email system to MS Outlook 2007. The plan is to train up to 24,000 users throughout the state on the MS Outlook 2007 email system. A large percentage of the users will be trained in Outlook Web Access (OWA), “thin client”. A smaller percentage of users will be trained on the full blown Outlook 2003 system, “thick client”. Consultants will be managed by and will report directly to staff assigned to them for this project. Staff will be responsible for directing, reviewing and making sure all time worked is accounted for.
The objective of hiring consultant staff is to expedite the rollout of this new system to 24,000 users around the state within a 2-year timeframe. Consultant staff will initially travel with staff to do some analysis work in preparation for the rollout of the new email system. The candidates will learn and come up with a generic training plan. Then, soon thereafter, the consultant staff will train end-users on these systems by themselves or with other members of the training group, whether staff or contract staff.
NCCI is looking for two (2) seasoned trainers who possess excellent communication skills, business analyst skills and team building skills. Specific tasks include:
Prior to training at a site, the candidate may do some analyst work at the site to gather information on the training needs of the site. Come up with a schedule for bringing new users onto the new email system. Establish communication amongst the various training units and the sites.
• Working as a team in providing email training on this system to staff at the sites.
• Working with team members in learning and keeping abreast of any new changes in documentation and training procedures.
• Assist with documentation; updating existing training materials and or assisting with creation of new training materials

Mandatory Requirements:
• Proficiency in speaking and comprehending the English language (Must be able to speak English that can be understood by native speakers of English and must be able to comprehend English when spoken by native speakers of English.). Personal interview will be used to determine if the candidate satisfactorily meets qualification.
• Two (2) years training experience delivering training in a classroom setting of 8 or more students.
• Submit one (1) example of training / teaching documentation and / or other similar technical documentation authored by the candidate.
• Satisfactory Reference Check
• Contractor will provide a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of four (4) references for each consultant that is being recommended for the project. The references must be from within the last 24 months and must provide first hand knowledge of the consultant's ability to perform the type of services requested in this Project Definition.
NOTE: The top scoring candidates that are selected for an interview, will be asked to do a short presentation (5-10 minutes) of a prior application/class they have trained as revealed on their resume. Part of this presentation could be an introduction plus some basic features about the application/class.
NOTE: Extensive travel is anticipated. Expenses incurred while in travel status will be reimbursed to the Contracting Firm using the New York State not to exceed rates. Original Receipts will be required for reimbursement. Location of assignment is Schenectady, NY (just outside of Albany, NY) Workday is eight (8) hours per day, Monday through Friday, except for State holidays. The typical workday starts on or after 7:30 AM and ends on or before 5:00 PM. However the schedule when traveling can vary. Workweek is typically forty (40) hours.
Desirable Requirements
• More than Two years experience delivering training in a classroom setting of 8 or more students.
• More than 1 example of training / teaching documentation and / or other similar technical documentation authored by the candidate. Examples must not come from the same manual to denote more than 1 example.
• Experience using Microsoft Power Point.
• Experience working with MS Outlook 2007 OWA (Outlook Web Access).
• Experience working with MS Outlook 2003 “Thick Client”.
