Arena Group, parent company of Count Me In, is looking to hire a MS SQL Server Developer. Count Me In helps organizations grow by providing compelling online registration and management services solutions that make it easier for organizations to promote, market and provide superior services to their participants.
In this role you would be responsible for supporting MS SQL Server environments and applications in an internet e-commerce environment. Working across all levels of the business from gathering and understanding business demands to delivery of solutions and reports that meet those demands. Our ideal candidate has the ability to design, implement and communicate database solutions and recommendations.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Complete understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and familiarity with version control, configuration management and bug tracking tools.
• Ability to create stored procedures and scripts required to support development, identifying and ensuring automation of processes whenever possible.
• SQL 2005 performance analysis skills, including techniques for analyzing database applications, identifying bottlenecks, developing ad-hoc queries, importing/exporting data and general database administration.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining reports using Microsoft SQL Reporting Services as well as managing SQL databases.
• Provide primary database administration support for maintenance and patching, and implement infrastructure changes.
• Ability to effectively manage SQL Server 2005 databases maintaining database backups; writing triggers; optimizing indexes and queries; and creating data replication between servers.
• Implement and enforce operational database security guidelines, policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company's database systems.
• Create new SQL database tables and maintain existing SQL database tables, creating/maintaining stored procedures and DTS packages.
• Monitor utilization and transaction activity tuning database systems for performance, capacity, and integrity.
Desired Skills:
• Candidates for this position should have a solid understanding of database operations and administration in a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 environment and must proficient in database operations industry best practices, database support methodologies, optimization, and tuning.
• Solid organizational skills working in a team environment with good interpersonal skills and a “can do” attitude.
• Ability to demonstrate advanced level analytical and problem solving skills taking initiative to resolve complex technical issues.
• Able to communicate in a clear and concise manner possessing both good written and verbal skills.
• Must be detail-oriented, flexible and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and be customer service oriented.
• B.S. in computer science, information technology or equivalent in experience and related technical training.
