Essential Job Functions
We are looking for a senior engineer/architect with strong experience in ad-matching/targeting to help develop algorithms and software systems for analyzing data from consumer media consumption habits. As a senior member of the team you will play a leading role in algorithms for classification, clustering, attribute extraction and matching applications. You will need to participate in project management and cross-team coordination. A suitable candidate for this position will be a highly motivated person with innovative ideas, great software design/implementation skills, and the ability to work closely with other team members.
Qualified candidates should be proficient in Java/J2EE development, have a solid knowledge of machine learning, data mining and information retrieval, including the hands on experience with data clustering, classification, regression, recommender systems, optimization, text mining, natural language processing, analysis, pattern recognition, etc.
Primary Responsibilities:
Architect, design, develop and deliver extensible and reliable ad applications for the volume consumer markets.
Participate in system-level architecture design.
Interact with other teams to define interfaces and understand dependencies.
Drive software technical design and development. Support related functions such as product requirements development, QA and customer implementation.
Independently design, implement and test complex features as well as lead small-project teams.
Provide mentorship to team members in design and implementation techniques.
Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout software releases.
Find and help fix stability/reliability issues in a time-critical environment.
Essential Job Functions
Recent experience with in-house, open source or commercial ad-serving/targeting systems.
Experience in machine learning, data mining and information retrieval, including the hands-on experience in data clustering, classification, regression, recommendation systems, optimization, natural language processing, analysis and pattern recognition.
8+ years of experience in software development; experience as architect/lead engineer.
At least 3 years in large scale, high performance, database-driven Web applications.
Strong experience in object-oriented design and implementation; experience with framework development a plus.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in J2EE/Java.
Experience in full-lifecycle product development; track record in on-time and high-quality product delivery.
Can-do attitude; results-oriented; passionate about customer experience.
Excellent team player; fast learner; strong problem-solving skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong collaboration skills to work with people from a variety of technical backgrounds.
Experience in rapid development methods such as Agile/Scrum a plus; experience in startups a plus.
MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent.
