We are looking for a senior level NetBackup Systems Engineer to lead our data storage backup and recovery systems design, growth and daily operations.
This individual will lead Backup and Restore operations in an enterprise level production environment, utilizing Symantec NetBackup in a dedicated UNIX environment, hosting UNIX and Windows clients. This position will also be responsible for 24X7 support, with a scheduled maintenance weekend every month. This is a critical position within the Storage Department that guarantees the production & development/test data integrity for TriZetto and its customers.
Individuals working in this position should expect to work beyond a 40 hour week.
Duties include:
- Perform advanced configuration and provisioning of the NetBackup environment.
- Manage daily Backup and restore operations, provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, display strong technical depth and wisdom in the Backup and Restore environment, provide recommendations to Engineering Management concerning upgrades and improvements to the infrastructure, policies and procedures.
- Manage simultaneous projects and coordinate necessary resources.
- Work directly with DBA's, Systems Administrators and Client Leads to ensure system-wide data integrity.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree, VERITAS certification
- Minimum of 5 years experience with Symantec NetBackup in an Enterprise level environment
- Advanced knowledge Symantec NetBackup 5.X and 6.X
- Experience with Solaris/AIX/Windows Operating Systems
- HP Openview experience
- Working knowledge of NAS and SAN environments
- Understand the concept of Backup, Restore, Archive, performance tuning, policy creation and modification
- Must be a team player with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent communications and customer service skills with the ability to relay vital information to either technical or executive level personnel
