Norwin Technologies is an IT Staffing/Consulting Company based in Newburyport, MA. We are currently working with a preferred client on a Sr. SQL DBA position.
This position is responsible for planning, implementing, supporting, monitoring, design and maintenance of departmental and enterprise database management in a Microsoft SQL clustered environment. Oversees migration of database structures from development and QA environments into the production environment, manages all environments, and reports capacity and performance results to management.
Strong scripting, stored procedure and query skills required. Ensures integrity and backup of all production and development data. Must have extensive experience configuring, monitoring and scheduling automated jobs during and after business hours. Must have extensive experience with disaster recovery and data replication techniques.
This position must possess a strong work ethic and be able to effectively multi-task in a fast paced support environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to easily and effectively interact with technical, non-technical, support, and business staff at all levels is necessary.
Job Requirements
3+ years experience in Microsoft Operating Systems and SQL clustered environments required
3+ years experience in a Data Base Administration support and project lead role required
Comprehensive knowledge of relational data base design, testing and implementation.
Supervisory experience leading technical teams and projects required
Comprehensive understanding of computer networking technologies (protocols, physical connectivity, etc).
Working knowledge of MS Office suite of products, including MS Project, Visio, Sharepoint, and Visual Source Safe.
Experience with Oracle 10G databases preferred
Great attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks

Required Education
Bachelor degree in MIS/Computer Science/Business or equivalent experience required.
