The Senior RoR Developer will be responsible for writing iteration based, well-factored, Ruby on Rails code utilizing an agile test-driven approach. The individual will need to help management turn their vision into a live application, suggest improvements and work with the rest of the team to prioritize aspects of the project. Management is focused on finding a driven, output focused, and enthusiastic individual who can quickly become a valuable member of our rapidly growing team.
Responsibilities:
• Write well-factored, extensible, elegant Ruby on Rails code with a test-driven approach
• Develop and deploy a high-traffic web application.
• Review code periodically and re-factor inefficient code
• Ensure that we have a solid foundation for our HTML and CSS code, as well as our server-side logic
• Work collaboratively as part of the development team
• Support management to determine project schedules and milestones
Requirements
• Experience working with Object Oriented analysis and design, as well as MVC programming concepts in a RoR development environment
• Experience developing within an iterative, agile, test-driven-environment
• Experience implementing REST based applications
Other technologies required:
• MySQL - table design, query tuning, explain, indexing, migrations
• Source control (Subversion/Git/Capistrano)
• rSpec
• JavaScript: We make heavy use of JavaScript through AJAX-based applications and expect you to help push that work forward
