We're looking for an experienced Product Marketing Director (or Senior Manager) to take end-to-end ownership of product marketing and to play a key role in shaping how we approach the market. This is an opportunity to help the company “change the game” for commercial data services as well as the emerging CDI/MDM marketplace, play a leadership role in both a young high-tech organization and an established public company, and craft the message for products that deliver great value to a global customer base.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide critical content expertise for key campaigns and marketing promotions.
Drive product marketing activities for new product launches and releases.
Take ownership of Purisma's competitive intelligence in order to refine our competitive positioning, drive the product roadmap, and produce tactical sales tools.
Assist in key positioning efforts for individual solutions and the overall product portfolio.
Play a leading role in establishing the company's market presence and thought leadership, including the emerging online information arena (e.g., blogs).
EXPERIENCE and EXPERTISE
Required:
3+ years experience in Product Marketing roles in a high-tech setting.
Inception-to-support experience launching new high-tech products.
Top-to-bottom expertise producing product marketing content: data sheets, technical white papers, position papers, website content, contributed articles, sales decks, marketecture, ?
Techniques to gather actionable competitive intelligence and make it useful to the organization.
Excellent skills in creating/writing and editing technical product collateral.
B.S. or equivalent degree.
Desired:
Prior experience in Product Management, consultative Sales, and/or pre-Sales roles.
Prior experience working as a customer of a CDI/MDM vendor or of D&B.
Deeply understand the CDI, business intelligence, and/or data services market landscape and customer needs. Experience with the data challenges faced by Sales & Marketing, Supply Management/Optimization, Finance/Risk, and other business functions.
Understand D&B's data products. Understand the role of the many technologies and trends impacting businesses: SaaS; ETL; SOA; data quality tools; data marts and warehouses.
Master's degree in business or a relevant technical field.
SKILLS and ABILITIES
Communication: Persuasively communicate in writing and in person -- with customers, with the press and analysts, and with teammates. Demonstrated ability to listen, ask hard questions, and respond directly. PowerPoint expert.
Execution: Tenacity and stamina to broadly evangelize our message throughout a large, decentralized organization and to corral internal and external resources to our advantage. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize time and manage concurrent activities.
Creativity: Demonstrated ability to identify new ways to position products, speak to our target buyer's core concerns, and effectively leverage the many potential channels to reach our audience.
Teamwork: Strong teamwork skills to establish credibility and a collaborative rapport with internal technical and business stakeholders. This is a “central” role in the organization with critical interfaces to Sales, Professional Services, Corporate Marketing, and Product.
Passion: Demonstrated ability to convince through conviction in what you say, persuasion and personal influence, convincing internal and external audiences that we have a winning product and value proposition.
