Client have an opening for a J2EE Senior Developer for one of their team (Forward Development - Framework).
The Framework team focuses on shared services for products, content publishing, authoring, and archiving. Below is the job description.
Position Type: Contract to hire
Senior Software Engineer
The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, implements and web applications and components. The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for deliverables such as design docs, unit tests, and code reviews. Other responsibilities include creation, interpretation and implementation of the company's specific business needs, requirements and specifications. The Senior Software Engineer is a master of one or more technologies and is capable of mentoring less experienced engineers.
Job Responsibilities
- Work in a team environment while keeping a clear SDLC in mind
- Work from requirements provided by customers
- Design solutions to problems involving UI and Workflow design
- Create design artifacts to document changes to the system
- Implement designs while adhering to strict coding guidelines
- Put in place a test plan and execute it
- Build relationships with customers
- Position reports to Manager of Framework Development team
Soft Skills

Required Technical Skills
- J2EE design and development expertise
- Some Java framework experience: Spring MVC, Struts 2, Hibernate, or other J2EE frameworks
- Web technologies/standards: JSP, CSS, XHTML, HTML, AJAX, XML, HTTP, PERL, PHP, XSL, and Taglibs
- Content Management exposure / experience (Interwoven, Vignette, and Documentum)
- Experience with some formal SDLC
Preferred Technical Skills
- Build scripting tools: ANT, Make, and Maven
- UI design and Business Process Workflow best practices
- Working knowledge of source control products: CVS or Subversion
- Experience with development tools: Toad, SQLDeveloper, and IDEs Eclipse,
NetBeans, and/or Idea
- Understanding Application Servers & Web Servers. Clustering fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of UML, JBoss AS
- Working knowledge with UNIX or Linux
- Working knowledge of unit testing tools: JUnit or TestNG
- Experience in Agile SDLC environment
