Big Fish is looking for an experienced Application Developer with solid Java middle layer skills. We are looking for someone to fill a permanent position with a client in Seattle. Working individually and as part of a team you will design and build web applications using a Java based platform for web development. This role is responsible for creating tools that will be used to deliver data and custom integrations to customers.
Responsibilities
• Establish Java based rapid web development platform and delivery methodologies
• Work directly with clients to gather quick requirements, determine scope and create simple plans for new custom solutions.
• Accurately estimate project hours and track billable time.
• Perform design, implementation, and unit testing (working with QA) of custom solutions.
• Maintain and continue development of existing custom solutions.
Skills & Required Experience
• Minimum 5 years of Application Development experience
• Hands on experience with SQL database programming utilizing JDBC or OJDBC
• Experience writing stored procedures and optimizing SQL queries.
• Minimum 3 years development experience with the following Internet Technologies: HTML, JavaScript/DHTML, CSS, XML, XSLT and Servlets.
• Nice to have:
o Ruby on Rails, GWT, JRuby or similar experience
o Significant JSP development experience
o Experience with multi-tiered Architectures
o Knowledge of J2EE technologies
Educational Requirements
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
