NOTE: Currently the team is located on the Redmond campus, but will be moving to the Issaquah location soon!

Job Responsibilities include:

Are you an experienced Editor with a versatile and creative side? Are you tuned in to effective web-based communication and end-user language? Can you be open to innovation and best practices that suit a customer base while upholding the style guidelines that inform the content experience as a whole? If yes, you may be the person they're looking for. They need an experienced Editor to work on UI text, user assistance content, and marketing communications for the Software Giant's Ad Center. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who knows how to develop effective end-user content, enjoys managing the editorial process end-to-end, and who wants to be part of a growing team in this exciting business space.

Core Responsibilities:

• Edit UI text and online Help, print, and Web-based documentation.
  
• Edit global go-to-market content such as customer-facing e-mails, letters, and sales presentations.
  
• Keep content effective and compelling while ensuring that all external-facing content is compliant with Company guidelines -- legal, geopolitical, branding, localization, privacy, security, etc.
  
• Keep terminology and feature descriptions consistent between the product and all content sources.
  
• Develop productive relationships with partner teams who function as content sources; become a valued and indispensable part of their publishing process.
  
• Manage terminology between groups and publications.
  
• Develop and evangelize style guidelines.
  
• Create project goals and editorial schedules; manage multiple tasks to completion on schedule (setting expectations and working out priorities with partner teams).

Job Requirements for this Technical Editor position include:

• Strong editing skills at every level of editing, from developmental edit to copyedit.
  
• 3+ years of experience editing UI text and assistance content for consumers or business owners.
  
• Experience editing marketing materials.
  
• Able to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects and drive projects to completion with little supervision.
  
• Experience using Source Depot and XMetaL.
  
• Knowledge of the MSTP, Microsoft UI guidelines at uxguide, and the Chicago Manual of Style.
  
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  
• Outstanding attention to detail combined with an ability to see the big picture.
  
• Knowledge of guidelines for UI text, help content, and compliance with security, privacy, legal, branding, messaging, localization, geopolitical, and accessibility requirements.
  
• Knowledge of marketing and service communications concepts.
  
• Search industry experience or understanding a plus.
  
• Experience gained by working at the Software Giant of Redmond, Washington a plus.
  
• Education and Experience: B.A. in English or Communications or 3+ years of relevant experience.
