Intelliware is a mid-sized custom software development company, headquartered in Toronto. With a blue-chip client list, an enviable delivery track record, and tremendous opportunities in hot sectors such as e-health and financial services, the company is looking to broaden its scope of activities to include technical product development. Intelliware is looking for a Product Manager to help accelerate this important change of direction.

As Product Manager, you will guide a team that is charged with building the next killer application in a focused vertical market segment. The job will range from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products for new companies. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on working with customers of all types.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Drive all product management activities across development, marketing, sales and support teams to ensure that revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
• Act as a “whole-product architect”
• Manage the entire product line life cycle from concept to launch at the strategic to tactical levels:
o Complete high level assessment of product development opportunities
o Help create business plans and develop innovative ways to engage in business relationships
o Conduct market research for current and future products supported by on-going visits with customers and non-customers
o Define the product strategy and roadmap that identifies key success criteria
o Develop product development and release plans
o Translate strategic business requirements into a features list for a product or system
o Satisfy and balance the needs of business, end user, and technical stakeholders in the product development process
o Together with marketing communications define a company wide go-to-market strategy based on the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer
• Orchestrate features and component reuse across different Intelliware Solutions products
• Work closely with the development team to refine product release requirements:
o Guide “Features” writing, estimating, and prioritization processes
o Facilitate “Features” workshop sessions
• Work with external third parties to assess partnership and licensing opportunities
• Wholeheartedly embrace and champion the “KIFASS” (Keep It Fast And Simple Stupid) mentality for product development
• Understand where manual processes are sometimes better than technical solutions
• Serve as the primary internal and external authority for your product offerings

“Must Have” Qualifications:
• A minimum of five years of software marketing/product management experience
• Computer Science or Engineering degree
• Demonstrated success in defining and launching excellent products

“Must Have” Skills:
In previous experience, you have seen a number of different products and systems, and have begun to see patterns in their successes and failures. You enjoy spending time in the market to understand customer problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.
• Effective communication at all levels of the company and with customers
• Best practices in the product development and technical product marketing (Crossing the Chasm, the Innovator's Dilemma etc., opinions on aspects of successful products)
• Exposure to and enthusiasm for Agile approaches to software development
• Knowledge and empathy for system usability issues
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
• Excellent written communication skills
• Strong organization and planning skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• An entrepreneurial sensibility

“Nice to Have” Skills and Qualifications:
• MBA or post-graduate technical degree
• Diverse outside interests
• Software development experience
• A passion for the intersection between business and technology
• Big company discipline, small company dexterity
