User Interface Designer (Contract)
Santa Monica, CA
Our client s an exciting digital entertainment startup with high profile venture capital investors is seeking a talented and motivated UI graphic designer to work with our development team on a groundbreaking entertainment project. The successful candidate should have a very strong creative graphic design and UI background, fun personality, good attitude, and good sense of humor. Although this will initially be a contract position, there is a chance for it to evolve into a full-time role. You must be able to work on-site at client office in Santa Monica, CA, near the ocean.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prototype and design user interfaces for web-based applications
- Design the look and feel for multiple brands based on a set of defined brand attributes
- Provide a visual style for each brand that is consistent in tone, voice, messaging, imagery, impression, and personality
- Work closely with developers to optimize the user experience
- Research information and best design practices to enhance the value of the site
- Effectively manage, warehouse, and catalog all graphic assets necessary for production
- Ensure consistency with corporate design and brand guidelines
REQUIREMENTS:
- Creativity, Creativity, Creativity as related to graphic design for Web 2.0
- At least 3 years of Web User Interface design
- Detail-oriented and energetic personality
- Comfortable in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
- Ability to research, absorb, and communicate new technologies as required for specific projects at rapid pace.
- Specific technical areas include:
- Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Suite CS2, Macromedia Flash
- Working understanding of HTML 4+, JavaScript, CSS
- AJAX experience a plus
- Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
