Rapleaf (www.rapleaf.com) is an internet startup backed by some of the most well-known investors in Silicon Valley. We're in downtown San Francisco, CA near all the best lunch and dinner spots. Very accessible via public transportation. Rapleaf has 12 people (9 being hard-core engineers) building game-changing technology - we'll likely file 6-10 patents this year.
We're working on searching and storing data on over 100 million people and making the dream of a portable reputation, identity, and social graph a reality. We're building the social platform for thousands of applications.

Amazing Software Engineer (Employee #14)
Qualifications:
- Amazing coder who takes no prisoners. Master of all things Internet. One of the best coders in existence.
- Learn new languages extremely fast. We use Ruby on Rails ? you can pick this up quickly.
- Intensely driven and proactive person.
- Extremely hard working. This is a start-up - team members work long hours.
- Quick learner and real doer. Err on execution over strategy.
- Thrive on working with A-players. Too good to spend long hours with B-players.
- Likeable person who garners respect on and off the job.
- Thrive on chaos, risk, and uncertainty.
- Should be easy to get along with, nice, fun, smart, ethical, and low-maintenance.
- Strong desire to build a more ethical society.
- Desire to be an early employee and want to be a real owner in Rapleaf's future.
- Want to work with extremely large datasets and build portable APIs that thousands of other companies can build applications on top of.
- Should want to live in or near San Francisco (relocation available if necessary)

Note: this job is really hard. You'll be working with some of the top search engineers in the world and they are going to expect that you kick ass. We're doing things that no one has ever done before and solving problems that have been open for years.
Role:
- Build out Rapleaf's next set of ground-breaking features.
- Work on creating a portable identity, social graph, and reputation.
- Build algorithms to normalize data on over a hundred million people.
- Solve super complex engineering problems no one else in the world is working on.
- Change the world and make it more profitable to be ethical.
