Position Description:
The SAP Basis Administrator maintains the life-cycle management of SAP systems within the SAP R/3 operating environment and any add-on modules. The SAP Basis Administrator applies standard SAP principles, concepts and techniques in system installation, user administration, managing system access, monitoring performance and problem diagnosis and resolution. The SAP Basis Administrator demonstrates excellent tactical approaches that also reflect the strategic perspective. Work is largely self-directed and may receive general review for overall fit with the SAP and enterprise strategy. The SAP Basis Administrator will be required to help guide, coach and/or review the work of other Basis Administrators, as well as be very involved with other SAP project team members, projects and tasks.
Position Requirements:
o B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent.
o 2-5 years of SAP Basis with administration experience in all aspects of the SAP R/3 and Enterprise Portal, as well as other SAP modules that may be implemented in the future.
o Installs the system, performs upgrades, apply system "patches" (OSS notes, support packages, add-ons).
o Supports the technical implementation of the SAP system landscape as it evolves (i.e., development, test, QA and production)
o Performs system refreshes; participates in the scheduling of refreshes as requested.
o Monitors and tunes performance and workload.
o Manages the SAP system landscape, including the Transport Management System.
o Performs systems maintenance and upgrades as needed, including backups and restores.
o Solves wide range of difficult problems independently.
o TRAVEL: up to 10%
