We are looking for a technical writer to document the programming interfaces for the low-level graphics components of Apple's world-class computer products.
Responsibilities:
Write detailed reference material and conceptual overviews for low-level graphics programming interfaces. Source material includes information provided by engineers, gleaned from source code, and discovered from test programs written by the writer. Must be able to gather information from specifications, subject-matter experts, and pre-release software; work closely with engineers and other writers; create documentation designs, plans and schedules; and meet tight deadlines.
Also, manage the HTML production and web publication of this reference and conceptual material. Must be able to collaborate with engineers on tools and processes that support the writing/reviewing/publishing workflow.
This is a perfect job for a programmer with proven writing skills, or a writer with proven programming skills.
Required Experience:
• BS/BA degree or higher
• 4+ years writing technical documentation for programmer audiences
• Programming expertise in C and C++
• Ability to create documentation plans and schedules and meet deadlines
• Expertise with HTML-publishing tools
• Good understanding of the software development process
