Experienced Technical Editor
We're looking for an inspired, intelligent, and innovative technical editor to join our savvy team.
As a technical editor, you will apply your expertise in the following areas:
Editing Software Development Kit (SDK) and IT pro content as well as error messages and user interface (UI) content
Editing content at all levels of edit (technical edit through copyedit)
Editing content for corporate editorial, branding, localization, and legal standards
Testing procedures in documentation
Collaborating with editors and writers across related projects

This is an estimated 12 month contract position with the possibility of an extension through Volt Technical Resources - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, which is headquartered in Redmond, Washington. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies in the Pacific Northwest.

Job Requirements for this Experienced Technical Editor must include the following:
A minimum of 3 years experience in editing SDK or similar content
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2003 or later
Demonstrated expertise in writing and editing
Demonstrated experience in working independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills
Preferred:
Bachelor degree in Technical Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field (related work experience may substitute for degree)
Experience with DocStudio, XMetaL, or PoliCheck tools
