Intermediate Technical Analyst

The DataBC program provides government wide leadership and technical expertise to establish, develop, implement, maintain, and promote the Open Data initiative, the Enterprise Spatial Data Infrastructure and Data Administration strategies.

Working for DataBC this position's focus is on providing technical services for the DataBC Program Capital Projects.

A broad range of datasets, database systems, middle-tier architecture and web services are supported including a mature spatial data warehouse environment -- the BC Geographic Warehouse.

Your role as Intermediate Technical Analyst will plan and manage the delivery and implementation of infrastructure technology solutions across multiple platforms, program areas and a variety of systems environments, including configuration, installation and integration services. Qualifications for this role include:

• Degree, diploma, certification or equivalent in the computer science field.
• At least 4 years demonstrated experience in investigating and implementing complex IT integration challenges.
• At least 4 years demonstrated experience troubleshooting, testing, implementing software and hardware solutions.
• At least 2 years of experience with all phases of project management and change management.
• Experience in documentation of business requirements, developing business cases, technical architectures/designs.
• Experience with major spatial technology software packages (ESRI, Geoserver and/or Oracle Spatial)
• Experience with data manipulation, conversion, quality assurance and replication scripts for data transformation, analysis and statistical reporting.
• Experience with relational database systems, SQL, PL/SQL, and data management principles.
• Experience with of Windows and Solaris and/or Linux Operating systems;
