The Provincial Court of BC sits at over 80 locations throughout the Province and hears criminal, family, youth, and civil claims as well as traffic and municipal by-law matters. The Chief Judge of the Provincial Court is appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council and is responsible for assigning Judges and Judicial Justices, and designating court facilities for the hearing of cases within the jurisdiction of the court and for providing administrative direction to Judges, Judicial Justices, and Judiciary staff. The Office of the Chief Judge (OCJ) is the administrative headquarters for the Provincial Judiciary, and is based in downtown Vancouver.

As a Technical Analyst, you are accountable to the Manager IT Services and Strategic Planning for the provision of second and third level end user support for the Provincial Court Judges, Judicial Justices, and judicial staff throughout the province. As the senior technical member of the systems team, this position provides technical leadership and guidance to the other members of the systems support team. The position is primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of the Provincial Judiciary Windows server infrastructure and end point client devices (computers, printers, peripherals). In this role, it will be your responsibility to receive and prioritize escalated issues from client staff and/or vendors and coordinate Tier 3 problem resolution to ensure stable performance. You will also be responsible for identifying critical failure and cascaded problems, and conduct diagnostic procedures to isolate problems; liaise and research possible resolutions with vendors and other technical sources; analyse, identify options, and resolve without benefit of documented guidelines. You will also participate in the evaluation, tuning, and configuration of applications and/or databases to maximize performance, availability, stability, and security.

Qualifications for this role include:
• Completion of a 2 year technical diploma or equivalent in computer science and a minimum of 4 years directly related experience including experience working in an infrastructure support role; or equivalent of education, experience and training;
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server and Hyper-V (2008/12) preferred;
• Advanced knowledge of networking technologies and best practices preferred;
• Advanced knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policies preferred;
• Advanced Knowledge of scripting and Powershell;
