TM Floyd & Company is hiring a Red Hat Linux Server Analyst with current knowledge of Linux systems to work with a team of engineers who work in Linux, AIX, and SUN environments. He/she will be responsible for the following day-to-day tasks:
Correct technical problems within the defined SLAs

Perform server checks prior to server deployment

Configure and maintain server systems using industry best practices

Secure servers and monitor server performance

Ensure servers are backed up

Devise and implement solutions to automate manual processes

Follow the defined change management process

Transfer technical server knowledge to others
The Red Hat Linux Server Analyst will have the following skill sets and abilities:
Ability to identify and patch software that includes Oracle, WebSphere, SNA, Connect:Direct, WebLogic, and DB2

Red Hat Linux experience is an absolute requirement

Exposure to Kickstart and replacement of user serviceable hardware components

Familiarity with TSM and TDP backup/restore/configuration from the client's perspective

Positive attitude and the ability to be a team player

Must work well in a complex, matrix environment with ever changing priorities

Job Skills

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
7 years of Red Hat Linux administration and patching experience
2 years of Red Hat clustering experience is required
3+ years of experience with Solaris 9 and 10 and/or AIX administration and patching
2 years of IBM DS4000 and DS8000 storage arrays experience is highly desired
3 years of IBM and Hitachi SAN Multipathing experience is highly desired
4 years of x86 is nice to have
3 years of LVM, security scanning, and remediation tools experience
Proficiency in scripting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
