The purpose of the IT Systems Administrator is to implement and support IT systems and infrastructure, and participate in various infrastructure projects.

Job Summary
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure.​ This individual will participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within infrastructure.​

The individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, network and applications are aligned to corporate policies, procedures and best practices with a strong focus on documentation and availability.​

Job Responsibilities
•Install, support and manage Windows and some Linux server systems in local and remote datacenter environments.

•Maintain and monitor Windows Server 2008 R2 servers environment, which includes Active Directory, IIS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, replication, users and group objects, software deployment, certificate server and KMS licensing management

•Manage various infrastructure technologies such as Symantec (NetBackup and Enterprise Vault), HP system management (HPSim, iLO and SMH), Microsoft (Exchange 2010, Communicator 2007 R2/Lync 2010, WSUS, SCCM and SCOM), Trend Micro OfficeScan 10.x, Websense, Safend Protector 3.x and Blackberry BES 5.x

•Provide Cisco VPN client support with RSA authentication technologies

•Manage system backups and offsite tape management

•Deploy applications, security patches and update packages

•Perform patch management in Windows, ESX and Linux systems which includes security patches, system drivers and firmware

•Monitor production systems with Nagios XI

•Provide second level desktop support including maintenance and troubleshooting of desktop and laptop computers

•Create and maintain documentations on projects and recurring procedures

•Work in shift rotation between 8am to 7pm on weekdays

•Participate in a rotating on-call schedule which includes performing server maintenance / updates and providing technical support after hours

•The use of a vehicle may be required from time to time to reach our datacenter facilities within the GTA


Qualifications
•3 year college diploma in the field of Computer Science, or Information Technology. University degree preferred and at least 3 years work experience in system administration

•One or more related technical certifications (such as MCSE/MCITP) preferred

•Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy management

•Strong knowledge in Microsoft Clustering (OS and SQL), and load balancing technologies

•Strong knowledge in Microsoft Scripting with VB and PowerShell

•Strong knowledge in Microsoft Exchange 2010

•Demonstrated skills in VMware ESX 4.x (vSphere and vCenter)Administration

•Good knowledge in Cisco VPN technologies with RSA authentication

•Good knowledge in BES Enterprise 4.x and 5.x

•Familiar with Microsoft System Center family (SCCM and SCOM)

•Familiar with Symantec NetBackup and CA ARCserve backup technologies

•Familiar with HP server hardware (ProLiant and Blade systems) and Hitachi SAN

•Familiar with SAN/NAS storage systems and integration with server applications

•(Good to have) Symantec Enterprise Vault administrating and troubleshooting skills

•(Good to have) Linux (RHEL 5.x ) administrating and troubleshooting skills

•(Good to have) Knowledge in Nagios monitoring, Manage Engine Service Desk Plus 7.x

•Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

•Ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities while staying a team player

•Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance

•Attention to detail, comprehensive problem solving and troubleshooting skills

•Ability to multi-task and prioritize work

•Must be able to effectively follow procedures and policies
