Requirements:

Must have technical documentation skills, be self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail, be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. The ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners and the ability to document design plans is expected. This position requires an ability to work as part of a team on structured projects as well as independently; proactively identifying necessary tasks to meet customers' needs and company goals.

Database/Systems Administrator Qualifications:
• Strong overall understanding of Great Plains software and the business processes that are automated with Great Plains - at least 2 years experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience: 5 years+ experience in database administration/development or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
• Understanding of and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments
• Experience with data management and data processing flow charting techniques
• Experience with SQL Server 200X, Networking, Windows Server, Active Directory
• Working knowledge of SQL Server administration including security, backup and maintenance jobs, and performance troubleshooting
• Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices

Job Functions:
• Provide primary administrative support
• Maintain DB server, upgrade and apply patches, and troubleshoot GP application files.
• Manage SQL Server Integration packages with GP and other MS DB dependent products as needed
• Build and deploy SQL servers in GP environment
• Handle GP and Active Directory integration
• Interface and confer with Users and Management to design business solutions
• Evaluate and analyze user needs, document, and create customer SQL Server Reports Frx Reports
• Provide technical input to assist in development of project plans through detailed work breakdown structures and timeline estimations
• Train Users in startup, basic and advanced use of MS Great Plains.
• Document data design with clear and concise technical documentation
• Stay abreast of related technology, evaluate and recommend future system enhancements, software purchases or system upgrades
• Be able to multitask several competing requests by gathering or estimation task priorities
• Perform any other duties as assigned
