Position: Engineering Tech Lead (Middleware)

Location: Reston Virginia 

MUST HAVE Middleware support experience to be considered for this role.

Responsible for the planning and development of technical support surrounding technology infrastructure capabilities including Servers, Storage, Network/Voice, Middleware, Operating System and database technologies. Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs infrastructure software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software automation tools including operating systems, routers, networks, voice devices, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and / or influences hardware selection. Provide on-going complex enterprise technical Level 3 support. Employs extensive professional expertise as a generalist or specialist. Develops resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of ingenuity and creativity. Work is accomplished without appreciable direction. Exerts considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Serves as the organization spokesperson on specialized projects or programs. Acts as counselor to top management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications. College Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred. 

Typically has 8-10 years related experience. 

Basic Requirements:

Create engineering automation scripts for install, configure and deploy web applications in Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Service bus,  Apache, Tomcat, Weblogic, MQSeries and Web method containers. 

Create/review Engineering diagrams, middleware analysis and build list. Identify application code changes and deployment/ configuration related Changes, deployment script changes, property file change etc. 

Undertake due diligence with Infrastructure and middleware code dependencies. 

Finalize methodology for migrating from existing environment to new environment. 

Support development teams and operations to enhance/create the existing/new middleware applications to new versions of Apache, Tomcat, web methods and WebLogic. 

Troubleshoot middleware issues in production and non production environment. 

Analyze business and systems processes for use in financial applications. 

Provide technical guidance and support to developers and consultants to ensure all (Sarbanes Oxley) SOX and (IT General Control) ITGC standards and procedures are met for a variety of complex applications.  

Provide senior level analytical and problem solving skills when addressing and resolving application and infrastructure integration issues, assessing possible systems impacts, and recommending technical solutions.  

Provide support to multiple interfaces to diverse in-house developed and vendor supplied applications.  

Liaison between users of various systems, technical and management units in determining user needs, performing feasibility studies and planning projects. Analyze, design, code and implement J2EE applications. 

Provide full life cycle support to new processes and systems to meet the needs of strategic initiatives, and integrate these processes and systems into existing applications. 

Utilize technical skills to design develop and test technical solutions to business problems. Involving in diagnosis of problems, analysis and researching strategic technical solutions. 

Manage Middleware Licenses. 

Preferred Skills 

Engineering knowledge in SOA Suite, Oracle Service bus, Weblogic, Tomcat, Apache and Webmethod. 

Excellent knowledge in the following: 

Work on providing middleware engineering solutions for multiple funded initiatives. 

Create Build & Deployment automation for new middleware products. 

Provide Engineering Solutions for upgrade tooling requirements 

Finalize automation scripts for middleware security requirements 

Infrastructure strategy and Procurement 

Establish Release management and version control 

Establish process and ways to provision new environments 

Provide engineering solutions for Clustering, Load balancing, Fail over, JMS implementation
