Software Developer (Web Apps) Job Posting

Pronto.com is looking for talented individuals to join our web application engineering team. Candidates will be presented with a unique opportunity to be exposed to the full software development lifecycle as we embark on rebuilding Pronto.com from the ground up.

This is a hands-on role focusing mainly on back-end development while still working closely with our front-end team to ensure smooth integrations on projects.

Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of direct, relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Leverage Java, J2EE, Tomcat, etc., to build and maintain highly scalable, highly available, modular code.
• Work with the engineering team to design, develop, test, and deploy new features for the Pronto family of sites.
• Participate in requirements gathering sessions, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Communicate status to project stakeholders.
• Ensure project timelines are met with high quality deliverables

Qualifications

• BS/BA, preferably in Computer Science, with software engineering experience.
• A self-motivated, team player with excellent communication skills.
• Well rounded problem solving skills.
• Solid J2EE/server-side java experience.
• Strong Knowledge of design patterns and software engineering best practices.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Databases -- MySQL a plus.
• Experience with Web Application frameworks e.g. SpringMVC a plus.
• Experience with Web Services e.g. REST a plus
• Experience with Build Management Software e.g. Maven a plus.
• Experience with JSPs -- JSTL and Tiles a plus.
• Experience with CSS, HTML, JavaScript and Ajax a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work with business owners and product managers.
