Director of Development
Talent Acquisitions LLC and its subsidiaries is a leading provider of payroll, accounting software and benefits administration services to the major studios, independent film and television production companies, television commercial production companies, sports and entertainment venues, music tours and festivals. Talent Acquisitions specializes in providing payroll services as the administrative employer for the cast and crew (“Work Site employees”) who work in the entertainment industry. A key component of our service is providing application solutions for our clients.
Talent Acquisitions has an immediate need for a Director of Development. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the company's future as it continues toward a technology-driven paradigm. The Director of Development will be responsible for leading SCRUM implementation and building the organization's overall software development capabilities in a .NET/SQL environment.
Candidates must possess 10+ years software development experience with 5+ years managing teams of developers. Experience in managing hybrid onshore/offshore teams and commercial product development is strongly preferred. The role will be a mix of hands-on, leadership, and management: 20%, 30%, and 50% respectively.
Qualified candidate is self-motivated and ambitious with the ability to think as well as execute.
This is an ideal role for an experienced Team Lead or Manager.
Experience
• 10+ years of software development experience with 5+ years in a leadership/management role
• Multiple lifecycle implementations in SCRUM Master role
• Hands-on technical experience in .NET/SQL environment
• Development management/leadership experience (commercial product development preferred)
• Proven track record in developing teams, improving processes, and mentoring staff
• Experience in working with 'C' suite
Qualifications
• Technical credibility to lead software development teams (onshore, offshore, 3rd party consultants)
• Deep understanding of Agile development practices and tools, preferably TFS
• Understanding of accounting, payroll, and ERP systems is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of entertainment industry guild agreements strongly preferred
• Knowledge of taxation and accounting is strongly preferred
• Degree in computer science required
