The Product Innovation Group, located in Chicago, IL, Alameda, CA and Duvall, WA, designs and manufactures distribution level voltage controller products to automate Electrical Utilities distribution systems. Controller products include microprocessor-based controls used in power distribution automation applications, including capacitor controls, source transfer controls, electronic fuses, switchgear controls, as well as patented peer-to-peer feeder restoration systems. In this position, you will report to the Senior Manager, Project Management. Occasional weekly travel is required. This position is based at Alameda location.

Description:

-Managing all aspects of software product development projects
-Managing geographically dispersed development teams
-Managing multiple concurrent projects
-Driving projects to completion in a timely manner
-Creating project schedules, identify areas of risk, and determine contingency plans
-Ensuring that project milestones are met in accordance with company's Product Development Process
-Recommending changes to improve company Product Development Process
-Holding gate review meetings with company executive staff as projects transition through phases of the Product Development Process
-Writing product specifications and create documentation
-Meeting with sales and marketing personnel and with customers to define products or resolve operational issues
-Writing functional specifications, hardware test plans, and design documentation

Requirements:

-BS degree Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
-10+ years' experience in product development and 3-5 years' experience in software project management with increasing levels of responsibility
-Demonstrated track record of bringing quality products to market on time and within budget
-Demonstrated skill in the use of MS Project
-Working knowledge of several project management methodologies, such as Agile, Waterfall, Change Management, Risk Management/Critical Chain/Event Chain, Quality Management, PRINCE2, Six Sigma, etc.
-Working knowledge of application development lifecycle
-Demonstrated ability to grasp how technical issues impact the business
-Demonstrated ability to reconcile varying stakeholder interests
-Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, and written skills
-Project Management Certification is a plus
