Software Developer Job Posting

BASIC FUNCTION:

Payment Technologies provides point of sales payment technology and electronic transaction processing services to merchants nationwide.  Sales are made through our network of ISO's, community banks and associations.  The Software Developer's primary function is to support Sterling's needs by designing and implementing software solutions for internal and external applications. This is accomplished through needs assessment consultations with Sterling department managers and beta testing with the users of the software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ability to handle confidential information and materials appropriately
2. Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats with technical and non-technical individuals and groups
3. Ability to handle and complete multiple projects, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet strict deadlines
4. Ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of personnel
5. Ability to analyze all available options and recommend the most effective software solutions based on findings
6. Ability to continually learn about new technology and apply it to meet the needs of the end user
7. Ability to understand and follow strict security guidelines and help train end users to comply with them
8. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
9. Ability to be on call as needed
10. Ability to work with limited supervision
11. Ability to work in a team environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Design, development, and test new software solutions for internal and external use
2. Enhance and/or debug current software as needed
3. Provide software documentation for all new and enhanced designs
4. Perform miscellaneous job duties as assigned

1.         All applicants must pass a drug test, background check, and credit evaluation

2.         Bachelors in computer/engineering discipline required

3.         Minimum of 5 years of experience in Delphi, C#, C++ or Java

4.         Minimum of 5 years experience in relational databases (SQL Server or Oracle) required

5.         Knowledge of OOD preferred

6.         Experience in GWT, in web application and server side development is a plus

7.         Experience in the financial/payment industry preferred

8.         Knowledge of various Accounting/Reporting systems preferred
