3+ years of recent, hands-on production J2EE experience, preferably in a high-volume transactional environment
Recent experience building scalable web application
Working knowledge of software development lifecycle and methodology such as Agile
Background in object-oriented design and analysis, exposure to UML
Thorough understanding of n-tier application architecture and Software Design Patterns
Quick learner with strong analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required Skills

Strong Java and J2EE experience (JSP, Servlets, JDBC, etc.)
Familiarity with Java Concurrency model
Proficiency with JUnit and other unit testing frameworks
Familiarity with XML technologies (XDS, XPath, XSLT)
Good understanding of relational databases, and working knowledge of ANSI SQL
Experience with one or more major J2EE application servers (such as WebSphere, Weblogic, JBoss, or Tomcat).
Familiarity with Web Services and RESTful architecture principles

Desired Skills:
Prior healthcare experience, knowledge of HL7, clinical data and interfaces
Experience with ORM tools such as Hibernate
Experience with Spring
Experience building scalable web applications either on the server or client-side

Education and Training:
BS CS, advanced degree preferred
Certified Java developer is a plus
