Our customer is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer with extensive experience in designing, deploying and operating service provider networks. This included expertise in layered network architectures, scalable system design, intra- and inter-domain routing protocols, ancillary network services operations, domain names services, security design, and threat mitigation.

Responsibilities:

Design and deploy network infrastructure to support the hosting of service lines in a global production environment
Design and configuration development for router, firewall, switch, load balancer, etc.
Design and deploy network availability, stability, performance, and load monitoring systems. Write scripts and build on commercial tool capabilities to provide others with reports and shared knowledge
Communicate to a varied and culturally mixed audience, sharing knowledge and passion about engineering global networks
Provide innovative yet realistic ideas on improving our network
Provide tier 4 on-call incident leadership as needed
Substantial direct experience with tiered datacenter LAN core and upstream ISP and backbone architectures; capable of tuning networks to maximize performance and devising enhancements to both.
Remain current on broad technology infrastructure changes in the industry and how they are driving the business practices and technical organization of our competitors
Advise program or project managers in structuring and sizing their plans, and raise red flags on faulty models or assumptions to prevent misguided implementation
Participate in system engineering reviews
Should be prepared to travel to Europe and Asia, as operations and R&D facilities located worldwide.

Technical Areas of Expertise

Current and Next Generation Data Center LAN technologies
Juniper/JUNOS/NSOS, Cisco xOS, F5 and A10, cli and gui
IGP/BGP traffic engineering
Multiple levels of certification -- Juniper JNCIE preferred
IPv6
Robust security ecosystem experience, including traffic anomaly and signature based abuse detection and mitigation

Education:

Bachelor degree in computer science or engineering and 10 years in large-scale service provider class LAN network design and operations or equivalent years of experience
