PLEASE NOTE

The work is primarily new project related -- both physical (25%) and virtual (75%) server builds. We currently have about 3500 windows servers, of which 3000 are virtual. Candidate will need to be comfortable resolving hardware issues like DOA components on new equipment. Experience with the HP Proliant servers, blades and chassis important plus VMWare. Scripting is preferred but not required.

The candidate can expect to be working on 2-5 projects at one time.

MUST HAVES:

• Experience building and supporting Windows servers
• Experience building and supporting HP Proliant servers, blades, and
• chassis
• Experience with VMware and creating virtual servers
• Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

This position will focus on building Windows servers for various projects. Both physical and virtual servers will be built. This person will be required to manage and prioritize several projects at the same time while keeping commitment dates to their project managers.

SKILLS:

• Must be experienced with Proliant line of servers including c7000 chassis, virtual connects, and blade servers.
• This includes racking, cabling, troubleshooting and physically repairing the servers.
• Windows 2008, 2003, 2000 Server\Advanced Server Microsoft Active Directory 2000\2003 Microsoft Clustering \ Failover Manager VMWare ESX\VSphere Virtualization Technologies (ESX 4.0 or greater, Virtual Center, P2V tools)
• Storage and Backup understanding for large enterprise solutions
• Microsoft PowerShell or VB Scripting
• Windows Applications and Utilities
• Excellent research skills
• Technical documentation skills
• Working Understanding of SAN technology
• Working Understanding of MS SQL
• Working Understanding of MS Exchange
• Working Understanding of Networking technology
