Basic Purpose:
TRIP web developers work in a team environment developing state of the art and industry leading web applications for OTRD-owned sites. The web development team also manages the hosting and security of OTRD sites, database maintenance, API integrations with the sites and maintenance of the sites.

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:
• Continually develops new functionality as requested while also making improvements that will favorably impact site speed, usability and organic rankings.
• Maintains performance of dynamic, data intensive and rich media intensive web sites
• Manages cross-browser compliancy
• Manages on-site ads and ad-serving software ensuring that ad impressions and placements are according to sales contracts
• Monitors and optimizes load balancing applications across clusters of managed servers hosted offsite
• Pulls data extracts upon request from a variety of databases that serve the web site
• On-call support in the event of site issues or failure

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• Strong PHP skills and experience required
• LAMP development experience
• Advanced/Optimized SQL skills
• Ability to effectively code using Javascript, HTML, jQuery
• Ability to create and maintain extensive stored procedures
• Knowledge of search engine algorithms and ability to optimize site structure for organic rankings
• Ability to use Flash and Flash video files
• Experience working with open source ad serving software is preferred
• Experience working with online video and feature-detection for conditional resource loading is preferred • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills as well as ability to handle work-related stress, manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical co-workers
• Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 are preferred

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and job related work experience
