REQUIRED:
• Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent field
• A minimum of 3 years of related and progressively more responsible and expansive professional work experience as a programmer in a health care environment
• Desire to participate in an agile software development team
• Proven developer of data driven web-based applications and user interfaces
• Proficiant in C#, ASP.NET, WebServices, XML, XSLT, Jquery, JavaScript, CSS, SOAP
• Capable of MS SQL Server database development including database schema design, data management, and creation of stored procedures / views
• Knowledge of the IHE framework and associated protocols, including HL-7, to facilitate integration of electronic medical records and various clinical information systems
• Demonstrated effective software engineering principles/processes including but not limited to: requirements gathering, technical documentation, unit testing, integration testing, acceptance testing, and validation
• Possess skills: communication, organization, technical self-learning, on-going professional development, and delivery of effective collegial user support

DESIRED:
• Experience in a healthcare or healthcare IT envinorment
• Experience integrating various health care information systems, including: GE Centricity PACS, Nuance PowerScribe 360, GE Centricity EMR, and GE Centricity Business
• Familiarity with business intelligence including dashboards and scorecards
• Ability to federate data in the creation and ongoing maintainence of a data warehouse, and subsequently development of data mining tools and techniques to improve the clinical business
• Experience with project management, network administration, security, troubleshooting, active directory, LDAP, Windows Server 2008 administration experience
• Proficienct in the use of clinical terminology such as ICD9, SNOMED/CT, HCPCS, DRG

BASIC FUNCTION:
As a member of Michigan State University's Radiology Engineering Group, this employee will engage within the Department and Michigan State University HealthTeam in many ways. He/she will:
• Actively participate in department's software development team
• Supporting the delivery of reliable quality patient services, research projects, educational services, and financial management by applying current information system technologies in an academic medical organization
• Develop, maintain, and improve our Radiology clinical information systems by investigating the needs/problems of the clinical users, develop new solutions, plan system improvements, prepare design specifications
• Provide technical assistance to users including investigation of user needs/requirements, provide expert assistance and advice with hardware and software questions and problems, and recommends hardware and software when requested
• Collaborate with clinical staff for the purpose of developing technical specifications, requirements gathering, and training
• Occasionally diagnose and resolve equipment failures and coordinate repair of failed devices
• Take responsibility for continually advancing professionally via technical self-education.
