Systems Administrator
The Systems Administrator role is responsible for monitoring the telecommunications network, participating in system development and architecture, and communicating with customers to help define their needs. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree (in Telecommunications; Information Systems; Computer Sciences), have good organizational and communication skills, work as a team player, possess troubleshooting and problem solving skills, and be willing to participate in on-call after hours support.
Responsibilities:
Monitoring the telecommunications network
Taking part in system development and architecture
Trouble shooting
Ability to communicate with customers helping to define their needs
Confidence and expertise in project implementation
Work on multiple projects concurrently
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum 4 years' experience supporting Linux/Unix based servers
Strong knowledge of configuring and monitoring web servers (Glassfish, Apache, Tomcat)
Expert knowledge in Linux and BSD system administration (CentOS, Fedora, Debian, FreeBSD)
In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP
Strong knowledge in MySQL administration (Operation / Backup / Tuning / Replications; master-master and master-slave)
Excellent understanding of system security and best practices, backup and recovery
Knowledge in Linux Iptables, FreeBSD PF and IPFW firewalls
Knowledge in perl/shell scripting
Experience in troubleshooting VOIP/SIP (Yate, FreeSwitch, OpenSips, Asterisk)
Any experience in developing VOIP prepaid systems with integration with third party systems (Radius AAA) including IVR systems
Knowledge in virtualization technologies - VMware, XEN
Experience with Postfix, Exim, Subversion, Lighttpd, HAproxy, Redis, Memcache, PowerDNS
