The Network Administrator's role is to maintain data and voice networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability, minimizing the down time. The Network Administrator will work closely with the Systems Administrators to promptly resolve any issues. The Network Administrator also plays a key role in developing and maintaining the high availability and disaster recovery plan for the corporation as well as documenting all segments of the network. This position will require an independent thinker as well as a candidate who can take direction from the Senior Network Administrators. 24x7 on call support and some travel are required.

  • Maintain data and voice networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability minimizing the down time
  • Provide technical support to users and system administrator
  • Administer day-to-day operation of networks
  • Follow LAN/WAN maintenance and management procedures
  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  • Explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to clients and staff
  • Read, interpret and apply technical instructions
  • Keep current by reading, interpreting, and applying information on technological changes and updates
  • Prepare clear and concise written communications
  • Research technical manuals and guides to respond to user questions
  • Prioritize requests, organize, schedule, and coordinate a variety of activities and projects

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school, or college diploma or university degree in
    the field of computer science; two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Cisco, F5, Avaya, checkpoint certification is a plus
  • Working technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems including Windows and *nix Operating systems
  • 2+ years of troubleshooting WAN/LAN environment
  • 1+ years of system administration experience in a Microsoft Windows Active Directory network environment
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and protocols such as DHCP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, SHRP, VRRP etc.
  • Experience with high availability solutions
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals
  • Strong knowledge of local area network administration
  • Ability to troubleshoot WAN outages and keep the users updated as required
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals
  • Ability to conduct research into software issues and products as required
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Successful at initiating and completing projects
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug test
