National Express Corporation is currently seeking a Director, Business Application Support for our Warrenville, IL corporate headquarters.

You will be expected to effectively manage a team consisting of Oracle E-Business support, Database Administration and Legacy application personnel. Provide professional advice to internal end-users dependent on corporate Front & Back-Office enterprise applications. This will include the resolution of requests, technical incidents and problems with the aim of achieving end-user set service targets. You will also liaise with the development teams when the root cause of the problem is highly technical.


Major Responsibilities:

•Manage Oracle E-Business support, DBA and Legacy Application direct reports
•Manage custom built field applications that provide driver and bus scheduling, routing, time & attendance, and invoicing.
•Manage the application provider relationships performance against established SLAs, lead corrective action and participate in service reviews
•Implement, refine and optimize incident management and escalation processes to support corporate systems to deliver on end-user experience
•Define OLAs with internal IT group to deliver on business set SLA/SLO to deliver on problem resolution expectations and timeframes.
•Resolve deployment or operational problems related to supported applications
•Analyze and identify chronic problem areas, and work with corresponding IT groups to deliver resolution to enhance quality of service through future problem prevention
•Perform formal and informal performance reviews of directly reporting staff members
•Conduct research on emerging products, best practices/standards and outsource vendors to support delivery of Application, RDBMS and Help Desk support service
•Develop policies and processes to continually improve the effectiveness of application support and maintenance to meet business needs
•Monitor and test fixes to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
•Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the internet to aid in problem resolution.
•Attend training seminars, conferences, and trade shows to broaden knowledge of current and future
Oracle E-Business suite, RDBMS and Transportation routing enterprise solutions
•Where applicable, confirm that supported products / applications are licensed and packaged to conform to license compliance
•Where applicable, identify budget requirements for ongoing licenses, support and maintenance

Position Requirements Include:
•University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science or Engineering, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
•Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in IT operational support
•Minimum 3-5 years experience in the Management role with direct reports.
•Minimum 3-5 years of experience in supporting Oracle ERP Back-Office and Front-Office Transportation applications.
•Experience of managing teams and outsource relationships supporting Enterprise Client Server applications.
•Knowledge of BPM tools such as Pegasystems SmartBPM is a plus.
•Experience with custom developed business software applications and support.
•Good working knowledge of Oracle E-Business suite: Financials, HRIS, Asset Management and Procurement
•Good Strong working knowledge of Oracle release 12 and MS SQL200x RDBMS
•Good understanding of database operational best practices and operating standards
•Knowledge of Oracle OAS/Fusion middleware technologies
•Experience with ITIL operational best practices: Incident, Problem & Change Management
•Knowledge of pre-production Q.A., code promotion and production version control processes, guidelines and best practice
•Experience in creating, negotiating and implementing SLA, SLO and OLA agreements with outsource relationships and internal business partners.
•Knowledge of the transportation industry and its regulatory framework is an asset
